Die Minoer lie\u00dfen sich neben <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ancient_Crete\">dem antiken Kreta<\/a> auf vielen Inseln nieder: Sichere Identifizierungen minoischer St\u00e4tten au\u00dferhalb der Insel umfassen <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kea_Island\">Kea<\/a> , <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kythera\">Kythera<\/a> , <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Milos\">Milos<\/a> , <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rhodes\">Rhodos<\/a> und vor allem <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Santorini\">Thera<\/a> (Santorini).<\/p>\n\n<p>Seit <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sir_Arthur_Evans\">Sir Arthur Evans<\/a> haben Arch\u00e4ologen den Palastkomplex von <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Knossos\">Knossos<\/a> , der ber\u00fchmtesten minoischen St\u00e4tte, identifiziert und freigelegt. Andere Palastst\u00e4tten auf Kreta wie <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Phaistos\">Phaistos<\/a> haben pr\u00e4chtige, aus Stein gebaute, mehrst\u00f6ckige Pal\u00e4ste mit Entw\u00e4sserungssystemen freigelegt, <sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/History_of_Crete#cite_note-5\">[5]<\/a><\/sup> und die K\u00f6nigin hatte ein Bad und eine Sp\u00fcltoilette. Die gezeigte Kompetenz im Wasserbau war auf sehr hohem Niveau. Es gab keine Verteidigungsmauern zu den Komplexen. Bis zum 16. Jahrhundert v. Chr. zeigen Keramik und andere \u00dcberreste auf dem griechischen Festland, dass die Minoer weitreichende Kontakte zum Festland hatten. Im 16. Jahrhundert richtete ein gro\u00dfes Erdbeben auf Kreta und auf Thera Zerst\u00f6rungen an, die schnell behoben wurden.<\/p>\n\n<p>Um das 15. Jahrhundert v. Chr.
